Monica McKay - Aboriginal Service Coordinator
Monica McKay began working for Aboriginal Student Services in 1993. She is a member of the Nisga'a nation of British Columbia, and a member of the Killer Whale Clan.
As the Coordinator, Monica provides academic, personal, and career counseling to all Aboriginal students on campus. The Coordinator also organizes and supervises a range of culturally supportive services for Aboriginal students in order to create a safe and accessible environment. Please drop in to make an appointment if you need assistance with admisssions, advocacy, financial planning, or tutor assistance.
Sheila Saikkonen - Aboriginal Service Assistant
Sheila Saikkonen has worked for Ryerson Aboriginal Student Services since September 2004 as Administrative Assistant. For many students, due to her location near the entrance, Sheila is the first smiling face they will encounter at the RASS offices.
Sheila was raised outside of Sudbury, Ont., and is a member of the Whitefish Lake First Nation. If you want to know what's happening in our department drop by (KHW 389)or give Sheila a call at ext. 7699.
Ruth Koleszar-Green: Sago, I am a member of the Turtle clan of the Haudenosaunee Confederacy. I identify with my grandmother's nation, which is Mohawk. I am also Celtic. I am currently working on my Master degree of Social Work,and also as a Master's Placement Student at RASS. I will be focusing on Academic Support and Development of Ryerson SAGE Circle.
