Strategic Mandate Agreement submission

October 2, 2012

In June 2012 the Ministry of Training, Colleges and Universities issued a discussion paper on a post-secondary 'transformation process', Strengthening Ontario's Centres of Creativity, Innovation and Knowledge, that was the basis of a series of consultations by MTCU this past summer.

In August, each institution was asked to submit a short document that outlines how its activities, current and planned, contribute to the directions outlined in the discussion paper.

Submissions will be evaluated by a review panel whose assessments will be based on each institution's "ability to achieve significant improvements in productivity, quality and affordability through both innovation and differentiation."

Ryerson's submission, sent to the Ministry on Oct. 1, 2012, sets out the university's proposed mandate, vision and key priorities for the years ahead. Links to the introductory letter from President Sheldon Levy and the submission are below.

Ryerson's paper is the result of consultations with the campus community, and input from students, faculty, staff, Senate, Board of Governors, deans and school and department chairs or directors.
