Open Enrolment Period Begins

As you know, the RAMSS Open Enrolment period began today and continues through Friday, September 17 (the last day to add Fall semester courses) . As enrolment in course sections changes constantly during this period, you may want to monitor RAMSS regularly to see whether space in a course has become available. If you are experiencing difficulties with courses which are required for your program, please consult with your program advisor

OSAP Distribution - New This Year

Students will no longer line up on a first-come, first-served basis to receive their OSAP funding! Effective for Fall 2010, Student Financial Assistance will release OSAP funding by individual student appointment. All students wishing to collect their OSAP funding from the Distribution Centre (LOWER GYM August 30 - September 14) must make an appointment. Only students with a completed OSAP application can book an appointment. The online appointment booking system is now available for students with loans that have been processed by OSAP. The first day to pick up funding is August 30, 2010.

GO Transit

Ryerson undergraduate or graduate students registered in a full-time program with a full course load for the Fall and Winter terms can apply for a GO Transit Student ID Card. Eligible students may apply using the online application process. If you have not already done so, please submit your online application as soon as possible.

Fees Information

Updated Fee statements for Fall 2010/Winter 2011 are now available via RAMSS. The final date for full payment of undergraduate tuition fees for the Fall 2010/Winter 2011 academic year is Friday, September 10. Students are strongly encouraged to pay their fees through their financial institution.

Making Sure You are in the Right Courses

All undergraduate students in full-time programs are encouraged to run an Advisement Report through RAMSS to help them determine what courses they need to enrol in and to ensure that courses selected all apply to their graduation requirements. The Advisement Report outlines which courses you have taken, which courses you are enrolled in, what your program's course (curriculum) requirements are and how your completed and current courses fulfill the degree requirements. Students should consult the Undergraduate Calendar for Liberal Studies restrictions before making any changes to Liberal Studies courses.

Friday is Monday

To create equitable timetables, changes to the University-wide schedule are sometimes necessary. For Fall 2010, Friday, December 3 will be dedicated to Fall 2010 undergraduate classes and activities which are normally scheduled for Mondays. Undergraduate classes normally scheduled Monday evenings have had meeting times extended by 15 minutes for the term. Courses offered by The G. Raymond Chang School of Continuing Education and the Yeates School of Graduate Studies are not affected by these arrangements.

Best Wishes for a successful and enjoyable year!
