Proofreading and Editing a Student Academic Work

What is acceptable:

Proofreading

Proofreading work to check for, but not alter, spelling, grammar, punctuation, typographical errors, and correlation between citations and references. The proof-reader may check that formatting is consistent and meets specifications. The proof-reader may provide feedback regarding the clarity and structure of the work, and may identify redundancies.

What is unacceptable:

Editing

Editing which includes the writing or rewriting, whether paid or unpaid, of any portion of a student's work that will be submitted to fulfill coursework requirements. The minute someone alters a student's writing by inputing their own words this is considered academic misconduct.
