The Internet, in addition to providing a great source of information on everything from software help to web design, also offers access to free email services, web site hosting, and much more. Browse the list of links bellow to discover some truly fantastic Internet Resources.

Gmail – A free browser-based Email Service offered by Google. Registration required.
Hotmail – A free browser-based Email service offered by Microsoft. Registration required.
Microsoft Software Tutorials – Instructions and help on using a variety of Microsoft software, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint and more.
The Maple Player – A free application for the iPad that lets you view and interact with documents created in desktop Maple. It takes advantage of the powerful Maple computation engine, so you can enter values, move sliders, and click buttons to perform new calculations and visualize the results. You can even rotate 3-D plots with a brush of your fingertips!
Autodesk Education Community – The Autodesk Student Version software incorporates all the functionality of the professional licenses, but includes a print banner making the software inappropriate for professional, commercial, or for-profit purposes. Autodesk Student Version software may not be used in the classroom or lab for instructional purposes, or for commercial or for-profit purposes. Thirty-six month licenses of Autodesk student software are not eligible for product upgrade or transfer to a commercial license.
RapidShare – A online personal file share service. Provides downloads of 100 megs per hour on the free service. Premium services also available.
Statistics Canada – Access to a vast database of Canadian statistics, studies, economic information and news.
Safari Books Online – Ryerson library subscribes to a database of online books offered by Safari. You can login on the Safari webpage with your Ryerson email address and password.
Web Design Library – Web Design Library offers free web design tutorials, articles, news, interviews, web design showcase, software reviews, and a ton of free web design stuff.
Wikipedia– A free online, collaboratively created and updated, encyclopedia
WordPress – A popular service that allows users to setup and create their own blogs. Includes custom design templates, integrated statistics, automatic spam protection and other features. Registration required.
Tumblr – A free, easy-to-manage blogging platform with useful and simple tools for uploading image, text, video, audio, and links. Also has the function to "follow" other Tumblr blogs. Registration required.
Flickr – A free image hosting service offered by Yahoo! which also supports video uploads. Great hosting space for embedding images on other pages or blogs. Registration required.
Vimeo – A free video-hosting service that also offers HD video hosting. Vimeo does not allow commercial content not created by the uploader. Registration required.
The Internet Archive – A digital library storing digital versions of websites, music, films, and books that are in the Public Domain. The Archive also features an internet "time-capsule" which stores older versions of websites and now defunct websites.
Google Scholar – A free-to-use search engine offered by Google that specifically searches for scholarly articles and literature.
