The Archives has a variety of Finding Aids to help you locate documents and artifacts in the collection. Currently most of the finding aids are available in print in the Archives. They include:
The Ryerson Archives maintains a comprehensive collection of files, containing clippings and other documentation of a secondary source nature,on people, departments, buildings and general topics related to Ryerson University and its history and operation.
The files complement the Archives' main holdings of primary records and are consulted extensively by members of the Ryerson Community and by external users who visit our repository.
The Clippings/Documentation Files consist mainly of articles, notices and other items from internal sources (student newspapers, University newsletters, publications, notices, etc.) as well as information from outside sources.
Files are arranged in alphabetical order by subject or topic and can be searched using the following index. Certain entries are linked through cross-references.
Files with an asterisk after their title are designated as dormant but are accessible for research.
The index is updated several times annually.
As with other components of the Ryerson Archives Collection, it is important to note that the Clippings/Documentation Files must be consulted and researched in person in the Archives reading room.
