Dr. Teigrob joined Ryerson’s Department of History in 2007. Prior to this, he taught at Central New Mexico Community College, the University of Toronto, and Nipissing University. This summer, he served as an instructor at the Freie Universität Berlin’s international student program. During his career, he has served on various teaching-related committees, and has been active in undergraduate and graduate program development. He has distinguished himself in the classroom, winning the 2010 Dean’s Teaching Award in Arts, which recognizes continuing teaching excellence and achievement in instruction.
In addition to developing new initiatives and teaching-related workshops, Dr. Teigrob will assist in the ongoing development of faculty interest clusters for individuals working in such areas as service/experiential learning and diversity in the classroom. With the aid of this year’s Learning and Teaching Committee, he aims to establish a continuum model of teaching support to focus on career-long renewal through course redesign, skills enhancement, and revisiting assumptions about teaching philosophy and approach.
