The Faculty of Arts Student Experience Centre offers a wide range of services, programs, and resources to help Arts undergraduate students achieve their academic, career, and personal goals. The Centre works in partnership with faculty, staff, and community partners to provide students with enriched educational experiences, both inside and outside of the classroom. We are committed to 

  • creating student responsive learning environments
  • engaging students in active learning and critical reflection
  • building capacity for transformative learning experiences
  • building partnerships in the Faculty of Arts, the University, and the broader community that advance student learning

    The July 8, 2016 week-end edition of the New York Times Arts section celebrated the centenary of the avant-garde Dada movement which declared old aesthetics as obsolete and heralded a new age of Modernism in poetry, literature, music, dance and political theater. In spotlighting the pioneering role of Barnoness Elsa von Freytag-Loringhoven, a prominent figure of the movement, the New York Times cited Dr. Irene Gammel’s poetry edition dedicated to Dada poet and performance artist, and her 2002 “fabulous critical biography” of Elsa as the “Baroness” of Dada!
