Course-Based Service Learning
The Faculty of Arts offers social science and humanities courses that involve students volunteering at local schools and non-profit organizations. Students participate in service learning opportunities as either an optional or required component of the course.
Examples of Service Learning in the Faculty of Arts include:
- ACS 402: Introduction to Global Studies: ACS 402 students collaborated with the Human Rights Watch (HRW) for their Service Learning Project.

- SOC 483: Advanced Research and Statistics: This project was with Mainstay Housing, a Mental Health and Addictions supporting Housing provider.
[ View Photos ] - SSH 502: Community Action Research: In analyzing Ryerson-on-Yonge in historic context, students worked with the Ryerson Library and Archives to interpret the social and cultural significance of the new building on Yonge at Gould Street.
