ELECTRICAL ENGINEERING

Administered by the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering

The Electrical Engineering BEng Degree Program is accredited by the Canadian Engineering Accreditation Board.

DEGREE: Four years of study on a full-time basis following OAC graduation.

ADMISSION: O.S.S.D. with six OAC credits including OAC credits in English, Calculus, Algebra & Geometry, Physics and Chemistry, with a minimum of 60 percent or higher in each of these courses.

NOTES: 1- English/Anglais OAC 1 is the preferred English.

2- Preference will be given to those with the highest overall average in the above subjects.

3- Admission requirements for students presenting courses from the New Ontario Secondary School Curriculum, are outlined in the Admission Requirements for Graduates of the New Ontario High School Curriculum Table of this calendar.

4- Subject to competition, candidates May be required to present averages above the minimum.

Advanced Standing

Students who completed at least one year of engineering studies at another university are eligible for advanced standing into the second or third year of the program. For students approved directly into the third year, no transfer credits will be approved beyond the second year level.

Students with a degree or partial degree in Mathematics, Physics or Science with appropriate credits in electrical circuits and computer science May be eligible for advanced standing in the second year of the program. Transfer credits will be assessed on the basis of strict course by course equivalency.

Students who completed a two-year community college program in Electrical, Electronic, Control, Communication or Computer Technology with a grade point average of 3.0 or better May be eligible for admission to the first year.

In all of the above cases, placement is dependent on the evaluation of the student's record and on the availability of space.
