PAT 305Pathotherapeutics: Child and FamilyLect: 4 hrs.
In this course the student will focus on the normal features, common dysfunctions and current medical/surgical therapies associated with pregnancy, labour, delivery and the postpartum period. The course will also examine the pathophysiology and current medical/surgical therapies associated with common pediatric health problems. Factors which place the child and family at risk will be identified. Emphasis will be placed on specific collaborative nursing interventions. Students will be required to adapt previously acquired assessment skills to children and pregnant women.
Prerequisite: PAT 204. Corequisites: NCL 305, NSG 305.
