DISTANCE EDUCATION/OPEN COLLEGE
The Distance Education unit within Continuing Education, offers over 100 courses for independent study. Many of these courses can be applied to a degree or a Continuing Education certificate program. Distance Education courses are available in a number of formats: print, on the Internet, or on audio cassette.
Distance Education students work with the course materials off-campus and deliver completed assignments to Ryerson in person, by mail, by e-mail, or by fax on the scheduled due date. Support services, program assistants, and the course instructor or tutor, all assist the student taking a Distance Education course.
Fees include registration, online materials and/or workbook materials, and an optional orientation session. The session is an opportunity to meet with the course tutor and other students. Basic texts and audio cassettes are available directly through the Ryerson Bookstore.
