ADMINISTRATION AND INFORMATION MANAGEMENT
Administered by the School of Information Technology Management
PLEASE NOTE THE ADMINISTRATION AND INFORMATION MANAGEMENT PROGRAM IS NO LONGER OFFERED TO NEW APPLICANTS.
IN SEPTEMBER 2000, THE PROGRAM WAS AMALGAMATED WITH THE BUSINESS MANAGEMENT (BUSINESS INFORMATION SYSTEMS MAJOR) PROGRAM TO BECOME THE NEW BACHELOR OF COMMERCE (INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY MANAGEMENT) PROGRAM. THE EXISTING ADMINISTRATION AND INFORMATION MANAGEMENT AND THE BUSINESS INFORMATION SYSTEMS MAJOR OF THE BUSINESS MANAGEMENT PROGRAM ARE BEING PHASED OUT.
CO-OPERATIVE PROGRAM
The School also offers an optional co-op program which provides graduates with 20 months of work experience integrated into their academic program.
Students wishing to take this program must apply for admission into the co-op upon completion of the first year of the program. Admission into the co-op is based on a minimum GPA of 2.67 (preference may be given to those who obtain a GPA over 2.67). Students must also pass a simulated employment and "suitability for co-op" interview and provide evidence of superior written and oral skills.
Students commence work terms upon completion of second year of the program and the optional co-op extends the program to five years from four.
The School cannot guarantee work term employment, but Ryerson's Co-op Office has experienced placement officers (co-ordinators) who prospect for employers and make every effort to identify suitable positions, as well as assisting students with their own search for program-related jobs. The co-op program enables students to earn prevailing wages for the level of responsibility and contribution of the jobs they perform and thus finance at least part of their university education as well as gaining marketable experience and contacts for career employment.
To graduate with the "Co-operative" endorsement on the degree, students must complete the fourth year as a full-time student.

Work terms are graded on a pass/fail basis and are not included in the GPA calculation. Each work term is assessed by the Co-op Director on the basis of the student's comprehensive written report and the employer's evaluation of the student's performance on the job.
Liberal Studies
Students must take three semesters of lower-level liberal studies courses and three semesters of upper-level liberal studies courses to graduate.
Transfer Credits
Students may apply for transfer credit, after admission to the program, with the Office of Admissions/Liaison/Curriculum Advising, enclosing officially certified transcripts and course descriptions/teaching outlines. (See also sections on "Transfer Credit" and on "Admission With Advanced Standing" and "Admission from other Post Secondary Institutions").
