DEGREE: Four years of study following Grade 12 U/M or OAC graduation or two years of study plus summer intersession (Advanced Standing Policy).
ADMISSION: O.S.S.D. with six Grade 12 U/M or OAC courses including the following:
NEW CURRICULUM: Grade 12 U English (ENG4U)/Anglais (EAE4U) with a minimum grade of 70 percent or higher.
OLD CURRICULUM: English/Anglais OAC 1 with a minimum grade of 70 percent or higher.
NOTES:
1— Final admission selection will be based on grades and an interview process.
2— Students must be able to keyboard, as hand written assignments will not be accepted.
3— Selected candidates will be chosen for interviews based upon grades submitted at the time of initial review. The statement noted below will be used as a supplementary component of the interview selection process and will be used for students selected to be interviewed.
4— Applicants are required to submit a one page resume (curriculum vitae) and a keyboarded statement in two parts, as noted below. An interview may be part of the admissions process.
5— Ryerson will allow the mixing of U, M and OAC courses as applicable but comparable courses will not be double-counted. As well, Ryerson will not accept the "out of school" component of Grade 12 U/M co-op courses for admission consideration.
6— Subject to competition, candidates may be required to present averages/grades above the minimum.
ADVANCED STANDING POLICY FOR UNIVERSITY GRADUATES: Two years of study plus mandatory four-week Intensive Television Block, following university graduation.
ADMISSION: Applicants holding a minimum of a Bachelor degree from accredited English language universities may apply for admission.
NOTES:
1— Advanced Standing Policy students must attend a mandatory four-week intensive Television Production block in May prior to the second year for which there is additional tuition.
2— Applicants are required to submit a one page resume (curriculum vitae) and a keyboarded statement in two parts, as noted below.
An interview may be part of the admissions process.

3— Students wishing to study on a part-time basis are not normally admitted. As well, Special/Auditor students cannot be admitted.
4— Applicants eligible for consideration for this two-year program may not apply/be considered for the four-year program.
Applicants are required to submit directly to the Office of Undergraduate Admissions two copies of a keyboarded, one page resume (curriculum vitae) and a 1000 word keyboarded statement. The 1000 word statement will include 500 words which will explain the reasons for choosing a career in the field of broadcasting. It should outline special interests and experiences (academic and extra-curricular) which may demonstrate a capacity to succeed in the field of communications. Adjudicators are particularly interested in activities which include leadership abilities, self-motivation, and an interest in society, along with actual work experience in the field. The final 500 words of the statement should provide evidence that the student has investigated an aspect of or an issue in the current Canadian communications industry. This section of the required essay must include a bibliography of works (magazines, newspaper articles, web sites, and recent texts) that emphasizes the care taken in investigating the career chosen. The statement must be received by the Office of Undergraduate Admissions by the application date. Please refer to the section on Application Dates in this calendar.
