THE MATHEMATICS CENTREThe purpose of the Mathematics Centre is to assist students throughout Ryerson in correcting weaknesses in mathematics (and statistics). Students will come to the Mathematics Centre after they have exhausted the usual approaches, such as consulting course instructors, attending tutorials and labs, and participating in classes.
Students who will find the Mathematics Centre most useful include:
- students who dropped mathematics in high school and now find that they need it at Ryerson;
- students who have been away from mathematics or who did not attend an Ontario high school;
- any student who is having trouble with a Ryerson course because of an inadequate background in mathematics.
The Mathematics Centre is staffed with student tutors. They are prepared to offer free one-on-one and group tutoring for introductory courses in statistics, calculus, linear algebra and general mathematics. The Centre is situated next to the Library entrance. It is open every weekday; the hours are posted at the entrance. There is no fee for registered Ryerson students.
