DIPLOMA IN ARTS

Administered by the Office of the Dean of Arts

DIPLOMA: Three years of study following Grade 12.

ADMISSION: O.S.S.D. including the following:

NEW CURRICULUM: Three Grade 11 or 12 academic courses: English, Economics, History, Geography, any language, Mathematics, Politics or an acceptable* senior level science (*Biology, Chemistry, Physics) course, at the U, M or C level with a minimum grade of 60 percent or higher for U and M courses, or a minimum grade of 70 percent or higher for C courses.

OLD CURRICULUM: Any three of the following Grade 12 academic subjects: English, Economics, History, Geography, any language, Mathematics, Politics or an acceptable* senior level science (*Biology, Chemistry, Physics) course, with grades at the Advanced level of 60 percent or higher or grades at the General level of 70 percent or higher.

NOTES:

1- Applicants will be requested to appear for an interview, where travelling distance permits.

2- Mature student applicants who do not meet the above English requirements will be required to take a test at Ryerson to determine readiness to enrol in the program.

3- Ryerson will allow the mixing of U, M and OAC courses as applicable but comparable courses will not be double-counted. As well, Ryerson will not accept the “out of school” component of Grade 12 U/M co-op courses for admission consideration.

4- Subject to competition, candidates may be required to present averages/grades above the minimum.
