UNDERGRADUATE PROGRAM CALENDAR 2004-2005 | |||
GRAPHIC COMMUNICATIONS MANAGEMENTAdministered by the School of Graphic Communications Management
DEGREE: Four years of study following Grade 12 U/M or OAC graduation.
ADMISSION: O.S.S.D. with six Grade 12 U/M or OAC courses including the following:
NEW CURRICULUM: Grade 12 U English and one Grade 11 U or M or Grade 12 U Mathematics course (one of MCF3M, MCR3U, MCB4U, MGA4U, MDM4U) with a minimum grade of 60 percent or higher in each of these courses.
OLD CURRICULUM: OAC English and Grade 12 Advanced Mathematics with a minimum grade of 60 percent or higher in each of these courses.
NOTES:
1- ENG4U/EAE4U or English/Anglais OAC 1 is the preferred English.
2- Applicants are required to submit a keyboarded statement as noted below. An interview may be part of the admissions process.
3- Students will be selected for the admissions interview (where travelling distance permits) and as applicable on the basis of academic background and results of the assessment of the keyboarded statement.
4- The statement, academic background and admissions interview will be used in the final admissions selection.
5- Students are encouraged to take Grade 12 M Principals of Financial Accounting (BAT4M).
6- Ryerson will allow the mixing of U, M and OAC courses as applicable but comparable courses will not be double-counted. As well, Ryerson will not accept the “out of school” component of Grade 12 U/M co-op courses for admission consideration.
7- Subject to competition, candidates may be required to present averages/grades above the minimum.
Applicants are required to submit a keyboarded 750 word statement to the Office of Undergraduate Admissions. This statement will describe the applicant’s reasons for applying to the program and why they are a suitable candidate. It should convey their understanding of the Canadian printing industry; detail any direct or indirect exposure to the printing industry; detail their skill level in the use of personal computers and; self-analysis of leadership abilities and self-motivation. The statement must be received by the Office of Undergraduate Admissions by the application closing date. Please refer to the section on application closing dates in this calendar.
