UNDERGRADUATE PROGRAM CALENDAR 2004-2005 | ||
JOURNALISMAdministered by the School of Journalism
DEGREE: Four years of study following Grade 12 U/M or OAC graduation.
ADMISSION: O.S.S.D. with six Grade 12 U/M or OAC courses including the following:
NEW CURRICULUM: Grade 12 U English (ENG4U)/Anglais (EAE4U) with a minimum grade of 70 percent or higher.
OLD CURRICULUM: English/Anglais OAC 1 with a minimum grade of 70 percent or higher.
Candidates will be screened on the basis of their overall Grade 12 U/M/OAC average (i.e. six Grade 12 U/M/OAC courses or equivalent).NOTES:
1- Applicants are required to answer a questionnaire on their journalism and life experience and submit a 300-word essay on a topic to be provided. A portfolio of published work is encouraged. Instructions will be sent by mail by the Office of Undergraduate Admissions as part of the admissions process. These will be used in the selection process.
2- Ryerson will allow the mixing of U, M and OAC courses as applicable but comparable courses will not be double-counted. As well, Ryerson will not accept the “out of school” component of Grade 12 U/M co-op courses for admission consideration.
3- Subject to competition, candidates are usually required to present averages/grades above the minimum.
PROGRAM FOR UNIVERSITY GRADUATES: Two years of study following university.ADMISSION: Students holding bachelor degrees from accredited English language universities may apply for admission. Screening procedures are outlined below.
