UNDERGRADUATE PROGRAM CALENDAR 2004-2005 | |||
OCCUPATIONAL AND PUBLIC HEALTHAdministered by the School of Occupational and Public Health
DEGREE: In the regular program: 8 four-month academic terms of study following Grade 12 U/M or OAC graduation. In the optional co-op program: 8 four-month academic terms of study and 5 four-month work terms following Grade 12 U/M or OAC graduation. Two options are offered, Public Health and Safety and Occupational Health and Safety, both of which are unique in Canada. Applicants must make their intention clear at point of entry as to which option they intend to pursue.
ADMISSION: O.S.S.D. with six Grade 12 U/M or OAC courses including the following:
NEW CURRICULUM: Grade 12 U English with a minimum grade of 60 percent or higher, and one of Grade 12 U Chemistry (SCH4U) or Grade 12 U Biology (SBI4U).
OLD CURRICULUM: OAC English with a minimum grade of 60 percent or higher, and one of OAC Chemistry or OAC Biology.
NOTES:
1- ENG4U/EAE4U or English/Anglais OAC 1 is the preferred English.
2- It would be beneficial to candidates to possess courses in Grade 12 U or OAC Physics, a Grade 12 U or OAC Mathematics course and the remaining course from Grade 12 U or OAC Biology/Chemistry.
3- Candidates who are 21 years of age and wish to be considered as a mature student applicant, please refer to the Mature Student policy.
4- Graduates of other universities and/or professional programs may be eligible for the two-year Occupational Health and Safety or the Public Health and Safety Options for University Graduates described below.
5- Ryerson will allow the mixing of U, M and OAC courses as applicable but comparable courses will not be double-counted. As well, Ryerson will not accept the “out of school” component of Grade 12 U/M co-op courses for admission consideration.
6- Subject to competition, candidates may be required to present averages/grades above the minimum.
