CENTRE FOR THE STUDY OF COMMERCIAL ACTIVITY
The CSCA is a “university based” research centre that has evolved as a co-operative partnership of government and over sixty-five private supporters whose common link is their active interest in enhancing research toward improving information, market opportunities, technology transfer, and competitiveness, in the commercial/retail sector of the Canadian Economy. All major constituencies within the sector-retailers, developers, real estate companies, financial institutions, consumer groups, government and consultants-are represented and are involved in the research direction and overall activities of the Centre. CSCA also plays a major role in the Geomatics for Informed Decisions (GEOIDE) Network of National Centres of Excellence and has received funding from the Ontario Research Development Challenge Fund, NSERC, SSHRC, Canadian Foundation for Innovation and Ontario Innovation Trust. This support has been directed towards the creation and analysis of geo-referenced information of strategic value to organizations with an interest in the retail economy.
