RYERSON STUDENTS' ADMINISTRATIVE COUNCIL (RyeSAC)

The Ryerson Students’ Administrative Council (RyeSAC) is the students’ union for Ryerson’s full-time and graduate studies students. Its purpose is to constantly improve the campus life of all students, by making their lives safer, healthier, easier and more fun. Towards this goal, RyeSAC offers a wide range of services and holds events and activities of both a social and educational nature.

RyeSAC also represents the collective voice of students for both on and off campus issues as Local 24 of the Canadian Federation of Students (CFS). Therefore, all Ryerson full-time and graduate studies students are not only members of RyeSAC, but are also members of the CFS - a group which provides an effective and united voice provincially and nationally, to more than 450,000 students from colleges and universities across the country.

Representatives from each faculty are elected anually during the winter term to comprise RyeSAC’s Board of Directors. The Board formulates the organization’s policies and establishes its direction. Students also anually elect a four member Executive, comprised of a President, Vice President-Education, Vice President-Finance & Services, and Vice President-Student Life and Events. The Executive is responsible for implementing the Board’s direction, and managing its day to day operations. RyeSAC is strongly supported by a full-time staff team who ensure that students’ needs are being met.

A portion of each student’s tuition fees is automatically deducted by the university to make up the operating budget for RyeSAC. The budget supports a wide range of free or non-profit services and events for students. RyeSAC also funds over 80 campus groups, student clubs, cultural and religious groups, Oakham House Societies, and the Course Unions for each program.

RyeSAC is students working together. As a full-time or graduate studies student, you are a member of this students’ union - an organization that is as strong as you make it. Find out what it offers and how you can get involved by stopping by the office, or visiting www.ryesac.ca
