STEP 1-HOW TO APPLY

Ontario High School Students in their Senior Year

Students in Ontario high schools apply using the OUAC 101 application. Apply using the Secondary School Online Application (SSOLA). See your high school guidance office in the Fall for details. An $100 fee (subject to change) must accompany the completed application.

International Students

International students (overseas applicants) apply using an OUAC 105 application. Applicants apply on-line at http://compass.ouac.on.ca. A paper copy of the OUAC 105 form may also be obtained directly from the Ontario Universities’ Application Centre (OUAC) by sending an e-mail to: request@ouac.on.ca. Application procedures are provided with the application form. A $115 (subject to change) (Canadian funds) application fee is required.

Current/Previous Ryerson Students From Fall 1984 To Present (Including Continuing Education Students), Candidates Applying to a Part-time Evening Degree Program or Candidates Seeking Special Student Status

Previous or current Ryerson students from Fall 1984 to present (including continuing education students) applying to a part-time evening degree program, except Midwifery and Primary Health Care Nurse Practitioner certificate only or candidates seeking Special Student status do not apply through the OUAC unless they wish to be considered for admission to another Ontario university. If they wish to apply to Ryerson, they request the appropriate application package from Ryerson’s Office of Undergraduate Admissions and submit the completed Ryerson application form with the $70 application fee (subject to change) directly to this Office. The Ryerson application package consists of a Ryerson application form, a supplementary application form, and an evaluation/application fee slip.

All Other Full- and Part-Time Degree/Diploma Program Applicants

For previous OSSD graduates, mature, transfer, or out-of-province applicants, apply using the OUAC 105 form. Applicants apply on-line at http://compass.ouac.on.ca. Paper applications are available through the Office of Undergraduate Admissions at Ryerson, or may be ordered from the OUAC by sending an e-mail to: request@ouac.on.ca. The OUAC application fee is $105 (subject to change). In addition, all candidates (except current Ontario High School students) are required to submit a $65 (subject to change) Evaluation/Application Fee and Supplementary Application form. Complete details regarding fee payment will be included in the individual Ryerson acknowlegement to each student. Applications will not be reviewed until the fee and supplementary form are received.

All applicants note:

  • Before completing either the OUAC 101 or 105 application, the application instructions should be read carefully. The program code(s) that describes most accurately the program(s) chosen should be selected. The program codes are listed on the OUAC 101 or 105 forms and the Compass On-Line Application;
  • A student who has applied via the OUAC will receive an Acknowledgment/Amendment or Verification/Amendment Form as soon as the OUAC has processed the application. This form must be used to make biographical and academic status changes to the original application. If any revisions to the application are made, Ryerson will be notified of the applicable changes shortly after the OUAC receives the Amendment Form. Although all amendments are important to the processing of each application, changes to program choice, surname, mailing, e-mail and home addresses are of significant importance and should be reported to the OUAC via the Acknowledgment/Amendment or Verification/Amendment Form as soon as the situation arises. During the Discretionary Period, commencing August 1, changes must be made in writing through both the OUAC and Ryerson’s Office of Undergraduate Admissions;
  • Students who have applied on a Ryerson application form must notify the Office of Undergraduate Admissions in writing of any changes in application, address, e-mail, telephone numbers and/or other information as soon as they arise.

As Ryerson will also communicate to candidates via e-mail, e-mail addresses must be kept current. Students who have applied through the OUAC are to advise the OUAC of changes/updates and those who have applied via the Ryerson application are to advise Ryerson’s Office of Undergraduate Admissions directly.

NOTE: Changes (e.g. to application/amendments/condition extensions, etc.) may not be made verbally, either in person or by telephone. Most communication from Ryerson is date sensitive. Applicants who fail to respond within stated time frames may have their application or Offer of Admission cancelled.
