ADMISSION DECISIONS

An application will be processed only when it is deemed complete (i.e. receipt of all necessary transcripts, supporting documents and applicable fees).

Applicants who have been approved will be notified by an official Offer of Admission.

  1. a) For Ontario secondary school applicants, the earliest date by which candidates may receive an Offer of Early Admission for the 2007 admission cycle is early March.

    b) Non-Ontario secondary school students, including out-of-province high school applicants, may receive an Offer of Admission as soon as interim marks are received by the Office of Undergraduate Admissions at Ryerson and the assessment is complete.

  2. Each year, Ryerson announces program-by-program first release dates. This information is first available in February at: www.ryerson.ca/ualca

  3. In order to maintain a space in the program in which an Offer of Admission has been issued, the applicant must confirm their Offer within the specified response period; meet all admission conditions; pay the tuition fees (or a portion thereof) by mid-July or as otherwise noted in their Offer of Admission; and pick up their timetable during Orientation at the specified time.

  4. Ryerson reserves the right to withdraw Offers of Admission made to students who fail to meet the condition(s) outlined in their Offer of Admission, who fail to respond within the specified response period, or who fail to make a deposit/fee payment as required.

  5. International Student Health Insurance - All International Students must also register in the University Health Insurance Plan (UHIP) for the duration of their studies at Ryerson. This plan ensures that all international students are protected from unexpected expensive medical bills and was established by Ontario Universities to provide comprehensive coverage.

UHIP coverage is compulsory for International Students and their dependants. IT IS STRONGLY RECOMMENDED THAT STUDENTS DO NOT PURCHASE HEALTH COVERAGE FROM A PRIVATE INSURANCE PLAN AT HOME PRIOR TO ARRIVAL IN CANADA. The necessary fee for this coverage will be included in the Fees Statement provided by the Student Fees Office.

Students are required to register in the plan as soon as possible after their arrival in Ontario. Failure to do so will result in a cancellation of approval to a program at Ryerson.

Any questions concerning UHIP and the application process should be directed to the Enrollment Services and Student Records Office by e-mail at rrque@ryerson.ca or phone 416-979-5136.

  6. Information regarding course enrollment/course intension and place of enrollment in late August/early September will be sent during the Summer. Newly-approved students who have paid their tuition fees, completed the Course Enrollment process, may print off their timetable but must attend course enrollment-related activities during the specified time during Orientation Week. Students who do not attend during the specified time, cannot be guaranteed space in their program unless special written permission has been given.
