* Costs could well exceed $2,000. Students enrolled in programs with expenses exceeding $2,000 should consult their academic departments for specific details.

Costs for such items as special examination fees, thesis and professional fees are also included in the above.

Transportation: Almost 90 percent of Ryerson students take public transportation to get to class and should allow approximately $700 per academic year if travelling in the GTA (Greater Toronto Area). If commuting from outside the GTA, GO Train pass may be required.

Pocket Money/Entertainment/Miscellaneous: Students should budget for a minimum of approximately $30 to $35 a week or about $1,000 to $1,200 per academic year, depending on their own personal lifestyle.

Clothing: Although most students dress casually, the amount to be budgeted for this category can vary widely. Students may have to consider the purchase of suitable clothes for part-time or summer employment or job interviews prior to graduation. For budget purposes, students should allow up to $800 for clothing during the academic year.

Living Away From Home: Students who do not live with their parents will naturally incur higher expenses than if they were living at home.

Rent: From approximately $450 to $550 per month for shared accommodation. Approximately $600 to $750 for single accommodation.

Food: From approximately $55 to $75 per week per person. Depending on your dietary needs, expenses may vary.
