RYERSON ALUMNI

The Ryerson alumni body now numbers more than 113,000 and is growing at a rate of approximately 5,000 per year. The majority of these graduates are concentrated in and around Greater Toronto and industrial areas throughout Ontario.

Alumni have consistently demonstrated a wish to continue an affiliation and identification with Ryerson, an involvement that is possible through alumni societies, committees and organizations.

From humble beginnings, the 199 graduates of 1950 have grown to become recipients of more than 105,000 Ryerson certificates, diplomas and degrees. Our alumni have a reputation for “delivering”, regardless of their area: commerce, industry, the arts or community services. A primary goal of the University and all alumni societies is to ensure this deserved reputation is enhanced.

Ryerson regards its alumni as inseparable partners in the tasks of maintaining program quality and currency in all areas. Alumni serve the University through participation on the Board of Governors, Academic Council, program advisory councils and fund-raising projects. Alumni also assist with career nights for students, orientations and guest lectureships. The alumni societies in turn keep members informed through regular mailings, the alumni magazine, reunions, special lectures and access to campus facilities.

Ryerson alumni are entitled to many benefits, services and discounts, including career counselling, low-cost life and auto insurance, credit cards, wealth management and more.
