OAKHAM HOUSE SOCIETIES

Oakham House - now a part of the new Ryerson Student Campus Centre - is home to a number of Oakham Societies. The goal of these Societies is to encourage the social and culture growth of the Ryerson community, by providing activities for students, staff, faculty, and alumni to participate in. Unlike other student groups on campus, Oakham House Societies are open to all members of the Ryerson community.

Oakham House Adventure Club
A theatrical outlet that allows, under the most professional circumstances possible, all Ryerson community members to participate in an active theatre program that includes a series of one-acts, during which original material may be used; and full-length plays. E-mail: outdoors@ryerson.ca, Website: www.dcn.ryerson.ca/~outdoors/index2.html

Oakham House Choir
Offers members of the Ryerson Community (and the general public) the opportunity to sing a great choral repertoire in one major concert each semester. The unique cultural experience of performing with a professional conductor, orchestra and soloists is usually restricted to professional or semi-professional trained voices, but without compromising standards of performance, the Oakham House Choir is open to amateur singers of moderate talents.

McClung's Magazine
Ryerson's Voice for Women. Two editions are published each year, in the Winter and in the Spring.  Ranging from serious to hilarious, the publication features interviews, articles and opinion about women and gender issues. Both men and women are invited to contribute writing or assist with production. E-mail: mcclungs@ryerson.ca

White Wall Review
Ryerson's University's journal of poety, prose and visual art since the '70's.  Since then, this annual publication has gained international recognition, with submissions coming in from around the world.  All members of the Reyrson community-students, faculty and staff - are encouraged to submit material to be considered for publilcation.  And if you want some experience with editing and publishing, volunteers are always welcome.
