CESAR Student Awards

CESAR Student Awards

The Continuing Education Students' Association of Ryerson offers awards to part-time students.

  • CESAR Academic Excellence and Achievement Awards in the amount of $300 each are granted to two students annually. Recognition is given to part-time students who have completed 60 percent of their certificate, diploma or degree program, the majority on a part-time basis with a minimum "B" grade, 3.0 cumulative GPA, as well as a record of significant contribution in the area of volunteer work (family responsibilites also given consideration).
  • Twenty CESAR Academic Excellence Awards in the sum of $250 are granted annually. Students can apply for the scholarship themselves and must have completed at least 60 percent of a certificate, diploma or degree program at Ryerson to qualify.
  • The Michael C. Persaud Bursary in the amount of $500 is granted annually to a student graduating from a part-time degree program and enrolling in a post-graduate program of study. Financial need is the primary focus of the award.
  • Hugh Innis Award in the amount of $250 is granted annually to honour a student who fights for academic and/or social justice and human rights within the Ryerson Community and/or in the larger community.
  • Michael Persaud Award in the amount of $200 to a student in the Public Administration program. Applicants must have completed at least 60 percent of the program, majority on a part-time basis, and maintained a "B" average, 3.0 Grade Point Average.

    The association also recognizes academic and special achievement through its annual CESAR Awards. Applications are available at the CESAR office or on the website at www.mycesar.org.
