Introduction to Biological Signalling
The course provides a survey of signal transduction. Topics include: intracellular, intercellular and signaling between tissues and organs; biophysics and calculation of ligand receptor binding; signaling of prokaryotes required for quorum, chemical and nutrient detection, signaling transduction of mammalian senses and nervous systems. A survey of mammalian signal transduction including the cell surface receptors, the Ig superfamily and cancer signal mechanisms will be presented.
