East Quad fountain is flowing again
The water fountain in the East Campus Quad, which for years has been inactive, has once again sprung to life.
As part of the program to beautify campus, the fountain was retrofitted this summer and is again fully functional.
Originally designed as a year-round fogging fountain, it was redesigned to use water jets to provide a focal point and animate the area north of Church and Gould.
The fountain was installed in 1991 when Pitman Hall and the Rogers Communications Centre were completed.
After a few years, the lines became prone to freezing in winter. Repairs to the underground lines were deferred until funds became available.
