Campus Facilities & Sustainability
General Electrical Work
Campus Planning and Facilities maintains and repairs electrical components such as ballasts, receptacles, switches, sensors, clocks, hand dryers, timers, breakers, motor control centres and starters, and the Campus Safety and Security blue phones.
We also perform monthly tests on emergency generators as well as annual tests on switch gear.
All work performed by our electricians is performed in accordance with the Ontario Electrical Code and may be inspected by a representative of the Electrical Safety Authority. Installations of new power circuits and fixtures, connections of new equipment, fabrications of electrical cords and inspections of student-used equipment are completed on a charge-back basis.
Power shutdowns affecting Computing and Communication Services equipment require authorization from the Director of Computing and Communications Services and Campus Planning and Facilities. Authorization should be requested through our Manager, Maintenance and Operations.
