Demand Maintenance

  Community members can make work requests, including DOIT and FIXIT requests, by filling out and submitting our online Service Request Form.

You could also make a request to our Help Desk by calling ext. 5091.

In some cases, charges may be levied to the requesting department for the service.

     

General Maintenance

  Campus Planning and Facilities’ staff install and repair small items such as keyboard trays, bulletin boards, coat hooks, washroom dispensers, lockers and campus signage, replacement of damaged light lenses and ceiling and floor tiles, leveling or replacement of paving stones, and the replacement of fire extinguishers as identified by Campus Safety and Security.

These requests can also be made through our online Service Request Form.

     

Preventative Maintenance

  A variety of building trades are scheduled to perform regular preventive maintenance on building systems, equipment and components of equipment.

Using a Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS), each building system is maintained according to its operating or legislated requirements and recorded on a work order.

     

Other Maintenance

  Maintenance staff administers elevator and escalator maintenance contracts, fire alarm system verifications, and emergency generator maintenance and load tests.

They also coordinate roof inspections, repairs and replacements, along with the annual roof anchor inspection requirements. Campus Planning and Facilities coordinates window washing and catch basin cleaning.
