Job Finders’ Network

General overview:

The CDEC’s JobFinders’ Network is a facilitated group of 8-10 students who work together to accomplish job goals under the guidance of a CDEC Counsellor. During the meetings, students will identify companies and organizations that hire students and grads, discuss effective job search strategies, practise cold calling and other networking techniques, and establish an individual job search action plan. This is not a workshop in a classroom setting. Rather, it is a round table where students can share advice, develop new skills, and gain insights into effective job search.

Who should attend:

  • Students who match the program and/or year of study designated for the particular network
  • Students who have a pretty good idea of what job they are looking for (type of position and industry)
  • Students who are ready to start looking for work now
  • Students who are willing to assist others in their job search as well as receive assistance
  • Students who are able to attend all meetings
