Carnegie Leadership Program
The CarnegieL Leadership Program will optimize the goals of the Centre for The Scholarship of Teaching and Learning, Faculty of Community Services, Ryerson University
Goals of the Carnegie Leadership Program
- Support the work of the FCS Centre for the Advancement of the Scholarship of Teaching and Learning.
- Build a cadre of researchers and research teams interested in the SoTL, with a focus on community service.
- Forge relationships with recognized leaders in SoTL (i.e. Carnegie Foundation, STHLE, iSSOTL).
- Inform policy at the University and Faculty level that recognizes the scholarship of teaching and learning and faculty roles and rewards, promotion and tenure, institutional policy language and decisions, and allied initiatives dedicated to improving student understanding.
- Strengthen developing links and initiatives internally (LTO), and with national and international organizations (e.g., Carnegie Foundation for the Advancement of Teaching, Society of Teaching and Learning in Higher Education).
- Establish research partnerships both internal and external to FCS and Ryerson University.
- Increase the collective awareness and valuing of the SOTL in the FCS and Ryerson University, i.e., faculty, students, support staff, and related communities.
Support the development and evaluation of professional and community-based curriculum models and practice initiatives for undergraduate and graduate students and community practitioners.
