Many of Ryerson's online resources require secure connections. Your options for establishing a secure connection vary with the online resource you are using.

- RU-VPN is security software that allows you to access administrative systems off campus such as OGF and CFAPS.
- SAM (Secure Access Method) is a downloadable certificate and login ID/ password that provides secure access to administrative systems at Ryerson such as OGF and CFAPS.
- SSH (Secure Shell) is a secure alternative to Telnet and is used to login to Ryerson's servers.
- Security Certificate files indicate that a web service is a trusted web site. Rmail and the my.ryerson portal both use security certificates.
- Eduroam (EDUcation ROAMing) allows students, staff and faculty to securely access the wireless network at a visiting educational institution using their Ryerson credentials.
