Online Resources for Students

You can access the following resources once you have activated your Ryerson online identity. Please note that you can only access certain resources if you are enrolled in specific courses. Access to these resources continues until the completion of the course. These resources include Malthus, Turing and Snapper.

 

Resource Description
Google AppsGoogle Apps at Ryerson is a package of web applications that includes Gmail, Calendar, Drive and Docs, Contacts, and Mobile.
RMail account If you chose to use RMail instead of Gmail, you can access it through a web browser using Web Mail or through a web-based email client such as Mozilla Thunderbird.
Labs You can log in to computers in the central computing labs found in the Library and KHW71.
my.ryerson Portal Formerly referred to as Blackboard, the my.ryerson portal provides access to my.ryerson online courses and RAMSS. Access the my.ryerson portal at https://my.ryerson.ca
RAMSS Use Ryerson's Administrative Management Self Serve system (RAMSS) for course registration and other academic administrative tasks. You can access RAMSS through the my.ryerson.ca portal.
Website Accounts If you are a full- or part-time student you are eligible to have your own website. Student websites are hosted on the Student Web Server (STW) on stw.ryerson.ca. You can request your website through the Self Serve Module within the my.ryerson portal. Further details in the User's Guide.
Malthus malthus.acs.ryerson.ca, is a UNIX server dedicated to providing statistics applications and research data sets. Access is available for students who are taking specific courses.
Turing turing.acs.ryerson.ca is a UNIX server that hosts a number of programming languages and the DB2 and Oracle relational database management systems. Access is available for students who are taking specific courses.
Snapper snapper.dcn.ryerson.ca is a UNIX server that provides web application development services including the ability to write CGI programs in Perl and other languages. Snapper is also designed to run computer-intensive engineering and GIS applications. Access is available for students who are taking specific courses.
