CCS Scheduled Maintenance and Outages

Preventative Maintenance includes a variety of activities necessary to keep information and technology services running, such as software patches, fixes and upgrades, hardware upgrade. Additional outages may occur as a result of unforeseen hardware or software issues. In these cases, CCS strives to provide as much notice as possible.

No alternate service will be available if a system or an application is not available due to the scheduled maintenance or outage, unless explicitly indicated in the table bellow for the particular system/application.

    Applying firmware updates to Markview Fax Servers. (RFC-177)
    User Impact: The fax servers will be unavailable for approx 60 min during update process.
  • Friday July 28, 2017, 6:30 AM to 7:30 AM
    Upgrading switch code for (East Campus), (West Campus), 415 Yonge and MAC Distribution Switches.
    User Impact: There should be no impact for East and West Campus.  MAC and 415 Yonge will experience up to a 5 minute network outage.
  • Friday July 28, 2017, 6:30 AM to 6:45 AM
    Remove DNS Server from registrar to complete the transition.
    User Impact: None expected.
  • Friday, July 28, 7:00 AM to 7:30 AM
    Enabling DC1 and DC2 LACP on aggregation interfaces on (departmental and unmanaged services) firewall.
    User Impact: Possible momentary interruption for VRFs and associated VLANs.
  • Friday, July 28, 6:00 AM to 10:00 AM - Ongoing till August 31
    Several VIPs and subnets from internal SP will be migrated to the external SP and the routing for the subnets will be moved to the SP virtual system.
    User Impact: None expected.
  • Friday, July 28, 6:00 AM to 8:00 AM - Ongoing
    Disable unused rules.
    User Impact: None expected.

 

Future/Pending Changes

  • Tuesday, August 1, 7:30 AM to 8:30 AM
    Applying group policy to fix Sophos clients that are not reporting to Sophos Management Console.(RFC-193).
    User Impact: None expected.
  • Tuesday, August 1, 7:00 AM to 10:00 AM
    Update Autodesk licensing Server.(RFC-202).
    User Impact: None expected.
  • Thursday, August 3, 6:30 AM to 8:00 AM
    Applying assorted fixes and features to CQ/AEM.
    (RFC-196).

  • Wednesday, August 9, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM
    Upgrading AppSpace live server. (RFC-199)
    User Impact: The AppSpace server will not be available during this time.
  • Saturday, August 19, 5:00 AM to 9:00 AM
    Upgrading Oracle from 11g to 12c on production servers. (RFC-197)
    User Impact: my.ryerson.ca, CAS and RMS related applications will not be available during this time.
