CCS Scheduled Maintenance and Outages

Preventative Maintenance includes a variety of activities necessary to keep information and technology services running, such as software patches, fixes and upgrades, hardware upgrade. Additional outages may occur as a result of unforeseen hardware or software issues. In these cases, CCS strives to provide as much notice as possible.

No alternate service will be available if a system or an application is not available due to the scheduled maintenance or outage, unless explicitly indicated in the table bellow for the particular system/application.

    Release RMS 6.0.4 which include the following features: add new question to Underrepresented Survey; add role validation when managing D2L shells; include master template shell types in nightly synchronization. User Impact: Access to Account Activation, Self Service and RMS Admin will be intermittent  during this time frame.

Additional Scheduled Changes

  • Weekdays starting on Monday, August 31, 2015 from 6 a.m. until 8 a.m. - in progress
    Network switches and switch stacks will be upgraded on a continual basis throughout the Ryerson Campus.  Areas affected will be notified of outages in advance of commencement of work.
  • Tuesday, August 16, 2016 until completed - in progress
    Activate a Windows 2012R2 server as a Print Server for ADMIN to replace the current Windows 2003 Print Server and migrate queues/printers to the new server.
  • Thursday, November 24, 2016 to Thursday, December 1, 2016 - in progress
    Virtualize Blackboard production servers (bb90prd, bb90prf and bb90prs). The servers will not be available during this time frame.
  • Thursday, December 1, 2016 from 7 a.m. to 8 a.m.
    Apply system patches to one of the email scanning server.
  • Thursday, December 1, 2016 from 7:30 a.m. to 8:30 a.m.
    Update SPSS licensing service. SPSS will not be available during this time frame.
  • Friday, December 2, 2016 from 6 a.m to 6:30 a.m.
    Update Campus News and Events RSS feed URLs.
  • Friday, December 2, 2016 from 6 a.m. to 8 a.m
    Apply system patches to ldap and email servers.
    The servers will be patched one at the time. Email sessions will be interrupted during service shutdown. User session will drop and user will have to reconnect.
  • Saturday, December 3, 2016 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
    Turnitin services scheduled maintenance. Users will not be able to access Turnitin during this time frame.
  • Sunday, December 4, 2016 from 8 a.m. to 11 a.m.
    Upgrade ERP firewall on three campus web servers one at a time.
  • Tuesday, December 6, 2016 from 6 a.m. to 8 a.m.
    Apply system patches to one of the email scanning server.
  • Tuesday, December 6, 2016 from 3 p.m. to 4 p.m.
    Change parameters for uplinks for fiber channel chassis switches in DC2. No system outage is expected. 

 

Future/Pending Changes

  • Tuesday, December 22, 2016 from 7 a.m. to 7:30 a.m.
    Apply new Papercut license file to Papercut server.
  • Date TBD
    Add a dashboard to provide users reports and flag content issue.
