Two-Factor Authentication

Two-factor authentication provides an additional level of security for your Ryerson account. After you enter your username and password to login, you will be asked to enter a pass code. The pass code is generated by an application on your mobile device.

Setting up Two-Factor Authentication

If you have never setup two-factor authentication at Ryerson, please follow these two steps:

Step 1: Install the Google Authenticator

  1. On your Android, iOS, or Blackberry device go to the app store, download and install the Google Authenticator app.
    (If one of these devices is not available you can purchase a Code Generator - see our How to section below.)

  2. Open the app and tap Begin Setup.

Step 2: Setup Two-Factor in the my.ryerson Portal

  1. Login to the my.ryerson portal.

  2. Under the ‘Self Service’ module, click on Personal Account.

  3. Under the ‘Security’ section, click on Two-Factor Authentication.

  4. Beside ‘Mobile Device’ click Setup and follow the directions.
    (If your mobile device is not setup to scan QR codes, click “Can’t scan the quick response code” and enter the code that appears in the Google Authenticator app on your mobile device.)

  5. Once you have setup your mobile device, check that it is working by entering the six digit number from the mobile app in the code field. Then, press Verify and Save.
