Virtual Applications

Introduction

Ryerson's Virtual Applications (VApps) provide secure access to licensed software applications from anywhere with an Internet connection. By using VApps, you can use applications without having to install them on your computer. The applications reside on Ryerson University servers and can be accessed once you log on to VApps by either going to vapps.ryerson.ca or by using it on your desktop (without a need to go to the browser).

For both options the user must have Citrix Receiver Plugin installed (see Installing VApps Client section).

VApps include designated file storage Personal VApps Storage (V:) designed specifically to work with VApps. For the best performance when using VApps, we strongly recommend you save your files on the network drive (V:)

Note: You must log on to VApps to access files on V: drive

Applications available with VApps:

  • MATLAB
  • NVivo
  • SPSS Statistics
  • SAS Foundation with Enterprise Guide

Users with access to KHW-71B can also use the following applications:

  • ANSYS Fluent
  • ANSYS Mechanical APD
  • ANSYS Workbench

Note:  Some students may have access to additional applications, depending on the requirements of their courses.
