“ Due diligence is what we promote,
risk management is what we support ”
Each individual within the Ryerson community shares responsibility for the
identification of environmental health and safety hazards and managing the related risks.
The Department of Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) and Security integrates, coordinates
and guides the efforts of the community in achieving due diligence in a manner which
vitalizes the University's culture, mission and objectives.
Led by the commitment of the Board of Governors and the Executive Group, the Department
sustains a culture of due diligence by establishing strategies, policies, standards,
systems and programs, managing regulatory affairs, auditing the University's due
diligence performance, and supporting the internal responsibility system in the
prevention and resolution of health and safety concerns.
Our focus is on developing, promoting and implementing best practices in prevention
and risk management.
