Consistent with the intent of the Student Code of Conduct, each student must take all reasonable care to ensure a healthy and safe learning environment. Their responsibilities, therefore, are the same as those detailed in this document for all University employees.

Where students are paid to perform work they become workers under the Ontario Occupational Health & Safety Act (OHSA) and, therefore, have the same rights and responsibilities outlined in this document and the OHS Act. In addition, any individual performing work on University premises, not for pay, but for educational and other authorized purposes are considered by the University to have rights and responsibilities under the University EHS Management System and supporting programs.
