CURRICULUM VITAE

Dr. Songnian Li has been a faculty member of Geomatics Engineering in the Department of Civil Engineering at Ryerson University since 2001. He holds B. Eng. degrees in Surveying Engineering from the Wuhan Technical University of Surveying and Mapping, and a Ph. D. degree from the Department of Geodesy and Geomatics Engineering at the University of New Brunswick in New Brunswick, Canada. Dr. Li is a licensed member of Professional Engineers Ontario (PEO) since 2003 and Association Ontario of Land Surveyors since 2002. He has been actively engaged in both scholarly and professional activities. For example, he is current serving as a special examiner of the Canadian Board of Examiners for Professional Surveyors, Canada (since 2004); the Associate Editor of the Editorial Board of Geomatica, Canada (since 2002), the Canadian National Delegate to the Commission 3 of the International Federation of Surveyors (2007/2010), and Co-Chair (04/06) and Chair (07/08), WG IV/5, Technical Commission IV, the International Society of Photogrammetry and Remote Sensing (2004/2008). He also holds membership of Canadian Institute of Geomatics (CIG), Urban and Regional Information Systems Association (URISA), and American Society of Photogrammetry and Remote Sensing (ASPRS).
