July 21, 2009 - Apollo 13 Showing at Dundas Square

The Centre for Learning Technologies will be working together with Yonge-Dundas Square in a City Cinema Outdoor Film Screening of Apollo 13 (1995). The movie will be shown on Tuesday July 21 at 8:40PM in the square. The Emoti-Chair will be translating the movie surround sound into vibrations to enhance the movie-going experience for deaf and hard of hearing individuals.

Yonge-Dundas Square is located in the heart of the city on the South-East corner of Yonge Street and Dundas Street.

August 5-9, 2009 - Clay and Paper Theatre Group Present "Between Sea and Sky"

The Centre for Learning Technologies will be working with the Clay and Paper Theatre Group on their production of "Between Sea and Sky" in Dufferin Grove park. Staff from the Centre for Learning Technologies will be assisting with touch tours prior to the show, as well as administering voluntary surveys to theatre goers about the experience. The Centre for Learning Technologies will be in attendance at matinee presentations of "Between Sea and Sky".

Conferences

August 13-16, 2009 - 9th Annual Leadership Exchange in Arts and Disability (LEAD)

The Centre for Learning Technologies will be attending the 9th Annual LEAD Conference in August of this year. JP Udo, CLIME Project Manager and SRC Associate, will be presenting an alternative approach to audio description that the CLT has developed.

September 26-27, 2009 - 2009 IEEE Toronto International Conference - Science and technology for Humanity (TIC-STH 2009)

The Centre for Learning Technologies will be attending the TIC-STH 2009 conference in September of this yaer. Carmen Branje, Lead Tech on the Emoti-Chair Project will be submitting a paper.

October 14-16, 2009 - Acoustics Week in Canada (CAA 2009)

The Centre for Learning Technologies will be attending the Acoustics Week in Canada conference in October of this year. The Emoti-Chair will be featured in an exhibit at the conference and Carmen Branje, Lead Tech on the Emoti-Chair Project will be submitting a paper.
