About Us

CRNCC is a dynamic affiliation of academic and community researchers, community service providers, consumers and policy makers. The CRNCC encourages collaborative, community-driven research and knowledge translation in home and community care, a crucial, yet under-active research field.

MISSION

  • Contribute to health system sustainability by identifying cost-effective innovations and best practices in home and community care locally, nationally and internationally.
  • Build and disseminate local, national and international evidence on home and community care.
  • Advance the significance of evidence-based knowledge of home and community care within the broad continuum of health and social care for providers, policy-analysts, consumers and other stakeholders.
  • Build capacity of the home and community care sector through knowledge mobilization, translation and exchange by actively engaging community partners in the conceptualization and use of research evidence.

Members

Our members include academic and community researchers, health, community and social care providers, policy-planners, clients, consumers and other interested stakeholders from across Canada and abroad. Benefits of joining CRNCC include:

The CRNCC is funded by the Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council of Canada (SSHRC) and Ryerson University.

History of CRNCC

The Canadian Research Network for Care in the Community (CRNCC) was launched at the symposium, From Idea to Action: Community Services in the Continuum of Care, held in Toronto on March 31, 2005. In its initial year, the CRNCC was funded by the Medicare to Home and Community (M-THAC) Research Unit at the University of Toronto, and was based at the department of Health Policy, Management and Evaluation (HPME).
