Within this rsvp site you will be asked to consent or not to a photographer taking your picture during the ceremony as you cross the stage and immediately after picking up your parchment. This is a third party relationship and the photography company will contact you directly via your Ryerson email address regarding your proofs, etc.

How to RSVP

Convocation Administration & Ticketing System (CATS) will be opened for students to RSVP in Mid-May for Spring Convocation and Late September for Fall Convocation. All students who applied to graduate will receive an email indicating whether they will be graduating or not. All applicants who are eligible and graduating will also receive instructions on how to obtain guest tickets through Convocation Administration & Ticketing System (CATS).

You will sign in to CATS using your my.ryerson.ca username and password. Follow the steps to register for yourself and your guests. You can see a Tutorial here. 

You will pay using PayPal and the tickets will be generated electronically. You and your guests can either show the tickets on your smart phone on the day of or you can print them.

 

Deadline

Please RSVP if you are attending your Convocation as soon as you can. The deadline to RSVP is one week before the start of the first Convocation Ceremony. 

If you miss the RSVP deadline, we cannot guarantee your guests' admittance to the Ryerson Theatre. They will likely be seated in an overflow area where they can watch a live broadcast of the ceremony.

Convocation Fee

There will be a $50 Convocation Fee if you choose to attend Convocation. You will pay online when you RSVP through PayPal.

You will pay using PayPal and the tickets will be generated electronically. You and your guests can either show the tickets on your smart phone on the day of or you can print them.

If you change your mind or cannot attend your ceremony anymore, immediately contact the Convocation and Awards office by email (convocation@ryerson.ca)  with the subject “Request for refund” as soon as possible. There will be no refunds after the deadline. (One week before the start of the first Convocation ceremony)


Tickets

Each graduating student is eligible for two guest tickets for the Ryerson Theatre. Extra tickets for Theatre seating are NOT AVAILABLE for any Convocation ceremony.

Please ensure that your guests have their activated tickets in advance and that they bring them on the ceremony date. If they forget them there is no guarantee of seating without the tickets in hand.

Students who wish to attend their convocation ceremony will be required to pay a $50.00 Ceremony Fee. This fee includes:

  • the use of regalia (graduation gown and hood appropriate for your program)
  • your ticket
  • up to two guest tickets for live ceremony seating in the Ryerson Theatre
  • up to two guest tickets (while supplies last) for the on-campus, large screen broadcast of the Convocation ceremony
  • post-ceremony reception (details to be announced at the end of the ceremony)

Two tickets for our live broadcast of the ceremony will be available upon request when you rsvp your theatre tickets. RSVP instructions will be included with the late May (for Spring Convocation) or late September (for Fall Convocation) eligibility letter email. The closed circuit TV room is located at PODIUM 250 (POD-250).


Seating is limited for both area so please RSVP as soon as you receive your eligibility to graduate email.

The Ryerson Theatre is located at 43 Gerrard Street East, Toronto.  Seating in the theatre and POD 250 is on a first-come, first-served basis.  Theatre doors will open one hour prior to the ceremony.  Only guests with tickets will be admitted.  Guests should arrive at least 30 minutes before the ceremony and be seated in the theatre at least 15 minutes before the ceremony. Late arrivals will be asked to wait outside the Theatre until the Chancellor's and Academic procession has entered the Theatre.

 

PLEASE NOTE: Convocation tickets are only available to students who have received from the University email confirmation of their eligibility to graduate.

All students who applied to graduate will receive an email indicating whether they will be graduating or not. All applicants who are eligible and graduating will also receive instructions on how to obtain two guests tickets for seating in the Theatre and two tickets for an on-screen broadcast.

If you have applied to graduate and if by early June (for Spring Convocation) or mid October (for Fall Convocation) did not receive the eligibility to graduate email you should email  the Convocation and Awards Office at convocation@ryerson.ca.

 

Guest Tickets

Each graduating student is eligible for two guest tickets for the Ryerson Theatre.

Tutorial 

 

Step 1: Sign in using your my.ryerson.ca username and password. (The same username and password you use to access your Ryerson email)

 

Step 2: 
Once you logged in, you will see the ceremony date and time you will be attending. 
If you are getting a degree and a certificate, there will be 2 different dates and times. Please pick the one you want to attend. If you want to attend both, simply finish registering for one ceremony, and log back in to register for the other ceremony. 

 

 

Step 3: 

 If you do not attend the ceremony, you may pick-up your document on campus or arrange to have it couriered to you. Please see Graduating in Absentia for more information. 

Continue the process if you are attending.

You will pay your $50 convocation fee through Paypal.

And you are now done. Make sure you have a confirmation print out or show it on your mobile device on the day of your ceremony. (You can also bring your one card)

Make sure your guests have their tickets on their mobile device or print it out ahead of time. One guest per ticket.
