User Management
Your 'Dummy' Student
A 'dummy student' is a user that the instructor can add as a student to their course in order to test the student perspective of their course.
Testing your course using the 'dummy student' is a great way to make sure that tests and assignments have been made available, as well as a great way to see the process that students go through when submitting tests and assignments.
*Please note: Dummy Students cannot be given access to the content collection tab, so they cannot be used to test the content collection. They will, however, be able to access materials from the content collection that are linked into a course.
Getting a Dummy Student
Please contact the CCS Help Desk to create a "dummy", or sample, student for you. You will be given a login & password that you need to keep track of.
Please do not give anyone else access to your 'dummy student'. If someone else needs access to your course, please contact courses@ryerson.ca for options.
Adding your Dummy Student to your Course
Each instructor/designer is responsible for adding their own 'dummy student' to their course. Please follow the instructions for adding users found on this page.
IMPORTANT: This method is not to be used with registered students.
