| Carina Petrache Award To be eligible for this award a student must complete first or second year of study in the full-time Criminal Justice and Criminology degree program and be enrolled full-time (with 4 minimum billing units) in the second or third year with a clear academic standing; must demonstrate having overcome significant academic challenges in pursuit of their studies through a marked improvement in term grade point average either between fall and winter term if the student just completed first year, or between first and second year if the student has just completed second year; must demonstrate a commitment to improving the justice system in their community. Application consists of a one page letter (200 to 250 words) or statement from the applicant indicating how they meet the critieria; and a letter of endorsement from faculty of community organization to support student's involvement in improving the justice system. | Yes |
| Second Chance Award Awarded to one undergraduate student in the School upon their entrance into the program; or must be a student in good standing currently in the program; must demonstrate a commitment to overcome personal, social, and/or economic disadvantage. |

| Harriet Stairs Award Up to $924 Officially enrolled in the Social Work or Criminal Justice four-year undergraduate degree program; entering second, third or fourth year; officially registered with the Access Centre; must be an Ontario resident; minimum CGPA 3.00; clear academic standing; demonstrate financial need. Deadline: February 8, 2013. |
