For demonstrating an interest in the preservation of photography through attention to the presentation of their work, and maintaining a clear academic standing. Submit two photographs (b/w or colour) of their own choosing, presented in a properly matted format (and unframed). The second may be framed.

To be eligible a student must be a Canadian citizen, permanent resident or a protected person; be an Ontario resident; demonstrate financial need; be enrolled as an undergraduate or a graduate student in the Photography stream in the School of Image Arts; be in good academic standing; have been accepted either to the France Study Abroad program or on an exchange program through Ryerson University.

Graeme Bird Second-Year Memorial Award in Film
Up to $1000
For students currently enrolled in third year, full-time in the School of Image Arts-Film program; have a clear academic standing, have a minimum CGPA of 2.00; submit up to 10 minutes of film work from their second academic year (must be complete works though can be a single film or several films) on DVD that exemplifies exceptional creative spirit, spark and energy; include a brief description and/or artist's statement (250 word maximum).

To provide financial assistance to a deserving third-year Image Arts-Photography student to be used towards the production of their thesis project in the final year of the program. To be eligible students must: demonstrate financial need, be a Canadian citizen, permanent resident or protected person, be an Ontario resident, be enrolled full-time in the fourth year of the Image Arts-Photography Studies Option, have a clear academic standing, submit a written proposal and budget outlining the work (thesis project) they wish to undertake in their final year, submit a portfolio of work in an appropriate digital format with an artist statement.

To provide financial assistance to a deserving fourth-year Image Arts-Photography student to be used towards the costs of mounting a solo exhibition. To be eligible students must: demonstrate financial need, be a Canadian citizen, permanent resident or protected person, be an Ontario resident, have completed their fourth year of the full-time Image Arts-Photography Studies Option at the time of application with a clear academic standing, submit an exhibition proposal comprised of a portfolio of work in an appropriate digital format and artist statement, submit a letter of support from a gallery either on campus or from outside the University.

William F. White International Equipment Awards
Equipment rental credit
For full-time students in the fourth year of the Film Studies Option who are producers or producers/directors of fourth year film production projects. The Director of Photography or Cinematographer must have taken and passed all professional craft electives in Cinematography that were conducted in 2nd or 3rd years. Award proposals for the film projects submitted for evaluation will be assessed for quality, feasibility, creativity and the ability of the producer to carry out the film requirements.
