Curriculum Advising

APPLYING TO GRADUATE

 

ELIGIBILITY

You must successfully complete all program requirements as prescribed by Senate in order to graduate with a degree, diploma, or certificate. You must submit an Application to Graduate in order to determine if you are eligible to graduate.

If you are eligibile to graduate, you will be invited to attend Convocation (graduation ceremonies). Convocation is held in the Spring and Fall of each year. Convocation information is available at www.ryerson.ca/convocation.

 

WHEN TO APPLY

An Application to Graduate must be submitted if you are enrolled in your final course, semester or year of study. You must apply by the deadline date for either Fall or Spring Convocation, in order to be considered for graduation.

 SPRING 2013 CONVOCATION

Undergradute and Chang School Students

Online Application to Graduate: my.ryerson.ca (RAMSS) 

Opens November 1, 2012 - Closes February 25, 2013.

Paper (Late) Application to Graduate: www.ryerson.ca/forms 

Opens February 26, 2013 - Closes March 15, 2013.

No applications will be accepted after March 15, 2013 for the Spring 2013 Convocation. If you have missed this deadline, please submit an Application to Graduate for the Fall 2013 Convocation.

 

Yeates School of Graduate Studies Students

Online Application to Graduate: my.ryerson.ca (RAMSS) 

Opens November 1, 2012 - Closes April 19, 2013.

No applications wil be accepted after April 19, 2013 for the Spring 2013 Convocation. 

 

 

FALL 2013 CONVOCATION

Undergraduate and Chang School Students

Opens June 1, 2013 - Closes July 20, 2013.

HOW TO APPLY AND APPLICATION FEES

A $40 (subject to change and non-refundable) Graduation Administration Fee will be payable at the time of application. Please ensure you have a valid Visa, Mastercard or American Express credit card for online payment.

Paper (Late) Application to Graduate: www.ryerson.ca/forms

A paper (late) Application to Graduate must be submitted with the $50 Late Application Fee in addition to the $40 Graduation Administration Fee (total non-refundable payment of $90) during the following periods:

Spring 2013 Convocation

  • February 26, 2013 - March 15, 2013

Fall 2013 Convocation

  • July 21, 2013 - August 16, 2013

To confirm that your application has been received for the appropriate Convocation (Fall or Spring), go to your Student Centre in RAMSS and look for the Checklist update on the right hand side of the screen. 

 

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

Graduating With a Minor?

If you are an undergraduate student who intends on graduating with a Minor, you must add the Minor to your Program and Plan AFTER you have applied to graduate. Step-by-step instructions are available here. You must follow these instructions in order to be considered for graduation with the Minor. Completion of a Minor is noted on the academic transcript, not on the award document.

 

Graduation Name Information

Your name as it appears on your student record is the name that will appear on your graduation award document. To make a name change, you must submit the Personal Data Change Form, with supporting documentation, to Enrollment Services and Student Fees (POD 64) by the published deadline dates. 

  • Spring 2013 Convocation - March 22, 2013
  • Fall 2013 Convocation - September 6, 2013. 

 

Cancelling an Application to Graduate

You may cancel your application to graduate by submitting an Application to Graduate Cancellation Form, available online and at Enrollment Services and Student Fees (POD 64).


NOTE: Cancellation of application is automatic for students who do not meet graduation requirements.

Deadline Dates to Cancel an Application to Graduate

  • Spring 2013 graduation - May 10, 2013
  • Fall 2013 graduation - September 6, 2013
