Request a Letter  

Ryerson provides you with the opportunity to access your own student record information. Sometimes you need more information, or you are required to provide it by an official source. Upon request, Ryerson provides official, personalized, letters confirming enrolment status, transcript details, etc.

  • Do you need a letter to confirm information which is not available on the official Ryerson Transcript?
  • Do you need a letter to confirm you are currently enrolled at Ryerson, were previously enrolled at Ryerson or you graduated from Ryerson?
  • Do you need a letter to confirm your current enrolment at Ryerson for your Registered Education Savings Plan (RESP)?
  • Do you need a letter to prove you are eligible to graduate to support your application or admission consideration at another educational institution?
  • Do you need a form to be completed or signed by the Registrar?

 

There are different types of letters Ryerson provides students.

  • All letters are issued on Ryerson letterhead for a $20 charge unless otherwise specified.
  • Copies of each letter are available for $5.

 

You will need to complete the Letter Request Form


Below is a detailed list of letter options provided by the Office of the Registrar. Depending on the type of letter required, processing time may vary.

Types of Letters:

  1. Proof of Enrolment Letter - Verifies that you are currently or were previously enrolled in a program. This letter can be used for RESP purposes.
    Confirm a Current Student – confirms your enrolment status for the current term or academic year. If you are currently enrolled in courses for the Fall term only, your enrolment will only be confirmed for the Fall. For degree program students, we will confirm enrolment in course intentions if available on your Ryerson record.
    Confirm you were enrolled at Ryerson – this confirms you were previously a student at Ryerson, program or courses and years of attendance.
    • Processing time: Online through RAMSS - next business day / Paper Request Form - 5 business days
    • Charge per Letter: $20 per letter, additional copies $5

  2. Eligibility to Graduate Letter - Verifies that you have met all of your graduation requirements for your program although you have not yet officially graduated. You should be in your final year/semester of study, have applied/ will be applying to graduate.
    • Processing time: 10 business days
    • Charge for Letter: $20 per letter, additional copies $5

  3. Jury Duty Letter - Current students must login to their Student Center via RAMSS to request a letter verifying student status, for exemption from Jury Duty.
    • Processing time: 1 business day
    • Charge per Letter: Free of charge

  4. QECO Letter (Qualification Evaluation Council of Ontario)
    • Processing time: 10 business days
    • Charge per Letter: $20 per letter, additional copies $5

  5. Transfer Credit Equivalency Letter - Identifies course(s) from other institutions that were used to grant credit towards a Ryerson program or certificate.
    Note: request this letter if you were a Direct Entry transfer student from a college. This type of 'block' transfer credit does not show on your official transcript. Other transfer credit does.
    • Processing time: 10 business days
    • Charge per Letter: $20 per letter, additional copies $5

  6. Confirmation of Graduation Status Letter - Verifies that you have officially graduated including year of graduation, degree/diploma/certificate and program.
    • Processing time: 5 business days
    • Charge per Letter: Free of charge

  7. Certified Photocopy of Award Document - Bring your original graduation document and a photocopy to the ServiceHub, POD 150. Service available in person only.
    • Processing time: 1 business day
    • Charge per certification seal: $20 per copy

  8. Confirmation of Enrolment Form - Verifies your enrolment and additional information as outlined on the form. Most often requires the signature or stamp of the Registrar.
    • Processing time: 5 business days
    • Charge per form: $20 per form
    • Charge per Canada Pension Plan (CPP form): Free of charge
