Spring/Summer OSAP Information

Here is some helpful advice if you are thinking of applying for financial assistance through the Ontario Student Assistance Program (OSAP) for the Spring/Summer.

  • Courses need to be part of your program – Check the list of required (core) courses, your liberal studies and professional related tables to confirm eligibility, http://www.ryerson.ca/calendar/
  • You need to be enrolled in a degree, or certificate program – If you have failed courses you are eligible to apply but not if you are repeating courses to improve your GPA.
  • Check your deadlines carefully – Applications or supporting documentation received after the deadline will not be considered or processed.
  • Courses need to be concurrent – See the examples of full-time and part-time below.

Application Details

There are three different scenarios where students would be eligible for funding over the Spring/Summer. Please carefully review the information below and following the applicable instruction.

All communication will be by email to your official Ryerson email account. Please monitor your email for updates on your Spring/Summer funding.

OPTION ONE: Submit a Spring/Summer Extension Form

Students who received full-time Fall/Winter OSAP and are taking at least three (3) concurrent courses in the Spring, Summer or Spring/Summer. This would be the equivalent of a 60% course load.

OPTION THREE: Submit a new part-time application through the OSAP website https://osap.gov.on.ca/

Deadlines

Deadlines are established by the Ministry of Training Colleges and Universities (MTCU) and are applicable to all students province wide. For this reason, Ryerson is not able to provide extensions under any circumstance.

The application deadline is applicable both to the application and any supporting documentation required to process your application. The information must be received by Student Financial Assistance in order to be eligible for funding.

A study period is defined by the first day of class (start date) and the last day of class (end date). For distance education courses the end date is the Sunday of your last week.
